Red vs Blue All Over Again, The Crosstown Shootout

Seems like we just did this. Red vs Blue in Ohio. Well, this time it's just in Cincinnati (although it's on Nationally) and istead of the elctoral college it's between The University of Cincinnati and Xavier University on the hardwood on UC's campus. Again, battle lines will be drawn. Families will be split amongst themselves as some contain both XU and UC fans, students and alumni. Banners will be hung, and fans will be sporting their teams colors all week long. Children will be sporting the colors of their school of choice, or where another family member went to school. Only miles apart, these two schools are in different conferences and sometimes seem as if they really arent that close. That is until shootout week rolls around. Then everything changes. Party's are sometimes held, and families and freinds gather to watch together. In many parts of Cincinnati, the veiwership will be above this years Super Bowl which is a few days before. Many of these players play together in summer leagues and meat up against each other as well, but nothing like this. It's about bragging rights, and truth be told I think the fans might look at it as a bigger game than the players and coaches do. And that's just fine, sure it's a big game to them too but the fans are kind of what make the atmosphere for it so [img]cool.gif[/img] around here. So on the days leading up to and especially on Feb 10th, expect to see more alumni sporting their school colors, maybe a few more banners and signs around. Maybe a few more hats supporting their teams. Maybe just a tad bit more of that old school spirit than you see at any other time of year. It's red vs blue again. Dont need much of a map to do this one though.
Shootout time is upon us again, and yeah. It's a big deal!

And I guess I should mention (for those who are completely lost) that I am in fact a UC grad so I of course will be rooting for the Bearcats!
